A Rangers XI have defeated a Leicester City side 3-0 at Ibrox in a behind closed doors friendly, according to the Rangers Culture Twitter account.
It emerged last night courtesy of Four Lads Had a Dream, that the Premier League club were due in Glasgow for a fixture, with a mixture of senior and development squad Gers players due to take part.
Clearly the idea was to get minutes into the legs of those on the fringes of the first team and for the handful of regulars not on international duty this week, to keep ticking over.

Given that the vast majority of the Foxes first team will also have been in international action this week, it’s likely that they brought a youthful side for the game.
Nonetheless, it’s encouraging that the Gers managed to emerge victorious, courtesy of goals from James Tavernier, Greg Stewart and Greg Docherty.

Docherty is yet to score for the club in a competitive fixture and has been frozen out of the first-team picture for some months, with his last appearance coming in mid-August against East Fife.
After several Bears asked for more information about the full Gers lineup, the Blue Sea of Ibrox account offered up a starting XI and list of substitutes.

Notable starters include Jamie Barjonas, who played in the Colts’ Challenge Cup win over Wrexham on Saturday, Andy King, who was turning out against his parent club, and Matt Polster, who has made just four first-team appearances since joining the club way back in January.
