The Rangers Women continued their superb form under Gregory Vignal and coach Amy McDonald with a 4-3 victory over Motherwell.
The Gers ladies side have undergone a transformation behind the scenes in recent months with new investment coming into the side.
That investment came to the fore as summer signing Daina Bouma continued her fine form with a strike which makes it three wins on the bounce in the league for the wily Frenchman’s side.
Holly Napier, Carla Boyce and Clare Gemmell got the other goals as Rangers as a football club look to play a pioneering role in women’s football in Scotland.
The result leaves Rangers fourth in the Scottish Women’s Professional League but this newly founded emphasis on the women’s game will lay the foundation for future title challenges.
The Women’s side was recently fully integrated into the Ibrox club’s footballing department [Rangers.co.uk], with the club now being able to sign professional female footballers.
They did this when they snapped up a trio of summer signings.
French youth internationalists Daina Bouma and Lisa Martinez joined the side, whilst the club also signed former Everton defender Emma Brownlie.

Under the new investment, the female team will now play their matches at the Hummel Training Centre and also have complete access to the state-of-the-art facilities available at the complex.
It’s clearly something Rangers are targeting for the long-term too. Last season the club became the first in Scotland to offer modern apprenticeships to young female footballers [Rangers].
