Rangers winger Kai Kennedy is set for a short-term loan deal with Championship Inverness Caledonian Thistle as talks stall on a new contract.
According to the Daily Record, the 18-year-old is refusing to budge on a new deal amid interest from the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
The move would see Kennedy move to the second-tier Scottish side until January with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.
Links between Kennedy and ICT also come after Premier League outfit Sheffield United are reportedly linked to the player [Daily Record].
However as of yet there have been no official bids for Kennedy and Rangers will demand suitable compensation for a player who has already made his first-team debut for the club.
Kennedy was a second-half substitute in Rangers’ 2-0 Scottish Cup win over Stranraer in January.
The youngster was also the MVP as a Rangers U17s team lifted the ALKASS Cup in Dubai back in 2017.
Rangers fans were also convinced that Steven Gerrard took aim at the youngster in August amid reports contract talks had broken down.
“I want to bring academy players in,” said Gerrard [RangersTV].
“But first and foremost they’ve got to commit to the football club.
“If you don’t commit to the football club you’re not going to be seen anywhere near me.
“They’ve got to be good enough, they’ve got to train every day like it means the world to them to play for Rangers.
“I’ve been hearing a few things down at the Academy that there’s been a bit of ego about so they won’t be around me.

“I’ll only play the players that show me on a daily basis that they’re good enough to be around us.
“Nathan Patterson, Jamie Barjonas and Lewis Mayo have shown that since the first day so they deserve the opportunities they’ve had and I’m pleased for them.”
