As quoted by the Daily Record, Ryan Conroy, a former teammate of Jake Hastie’s has opened up on the new Rangers signing.
The two players turned out as wingers for Airdriedonians during the 2017-18 season, when Hastie was on loan from Motherwell.
Even then, as a teenager, Conroy said he was capable of moments of magic.

“He was raw but when he was with us he always had those moments. It just shows you what can happen when you get your chance.
“He got that wee run at Motherwell in the team for six or seven months and he’s ended up at Rangers.”
VERDICT
It wasn’t as if Hastie set the world alight at Airdrie. In fact, he only managed two goals in 31 league appearances during his loan spell [Soccerbase].
However, end product is something he’s clearly improved upon since those days.

His performances between then and the end of the campaign, were enough to see him
nominated for the Scottish Young Player of the Year.
He missed out on the award but secured his big move to Rangers by signing a pre-contract agreement.
Gers fans haven’t seen much of him so far, but he could be
set for a competitive debut against St Joseph’s this evening at Ibrox.
Let’s hope if given the opportunity ahead of Sheyi Ojo, he shows what all the fuss is about.
