Rangers fans sometimes don’t appreciate how lucky they are to have Ibrox as their stadium and place of worship.
Stadiums like the Etihad or Tottenham Hotspur stadium are impressive and no doubt an incredible experience, but they are soulless.
Few grounds of the age of Rangers home ground still have the same alure but Ibrox remains as one of the finest in the world, as confirmed by a poll on the The Football History Boys Twitter page.

Seeing off St James’ Park, Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabeu to make it to the final, somehow, Rangers faced Celtic in the final in an Old Firm pre-season clash – Ibrox against Parkhead.
It is easy to see why Ibrox might make it all the way through given the history of Archibald Leitch’s architecture but how Celtic’s scaffolding inspired structure scraped through is anyone’s guess.
In terms of atmosphere, in fairness, Parkhead can be loud when the occasion suits but as a stadium in its own right, how it looks is far from the modern stadia that we now see littered across the continent.
There will come a point that the short cuts of the ‘90s comes back to haunt them – buy cheap, buy twice and all that.
Rangers and Ibrox come out on top
The result, as things always are online between Old Firm fans, was close but, out of over 85,000 votes, Rangers and Ibrox came out on top with 54%.
Since the day Dave King took over as Rangers charman, Ibrox has gradually been returned to its former glory and now, is being taken to the next level.

New lounges, hospitality suites updated, a sports bar being built where the club shop used to be, a partnership with Gordon Ramsey and, of course, New Edmiston House.
Ibrox has, as was the dream of James Bisgrove when he first arrived, become a 365 days a year facility, an asset that makes money rather than being just a spectacular church that sits empty for most of the year.
After the Rangers Women beat Celtic in the Glasgow Cup too, I make that 2-0 to us already, let’s hope that it’s a good sign for the season ahead and that there are many more Old Firm victories with the Light Blues taking top spot.
