Ahead of Rangers’ Boxing Day clash against St Mirren at Ibrox, we’ve put together a Gers Predicted XI.

Rangers come into the match in excellent form, even though last weekend’s 1-0 win over Dundee United wasn’t overly convincing.

Gio van Bronckhorst is still unbeaten as Rangers manager and has a 100% record in the league, while his side have ‘kept the zero’ in each of their last five Premiership matches.

It’s quite a contrast in Paisley, as although St Mirren defended admirably to secure a point against Celtic in midweek, they are on a long winless streak and are depleted following a Covid outbreak.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

With no fresh injury concerns reported on Friday, we’re expecting Gio to go with a similar but slightly tweaked starting XI on Boxing Day.

Allan McGregor is likely to keep his spot in goal, but there should be a change to the back four.

Leon Balogun is unlikely to be fit enough to come back in but Borna Barisic should return following illness.

He’s likely to replace Nathan Patterson, who deputised at left-back for most of last weekend’s win over The Terrors, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Calvin Bassey keeping their spots.

In midfield, Glen Kamara should continue with Scott Arfield partnering him. That would see John Lundstram drop out for Joe Aribo.

Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are likely to keep their places, but there could be a return for Fashion Sakala on the right after Ianis Hagi struggled there last weekend.
