Rangers vs Motherwell: Well chief shares incredible video from Fir Park

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has shared an incredible video from Fir Park as the North Lanarkshire club battles the elements ahead of the visit of Rangers.

The Gers will travel to ML1 on Sunday in search of three points after slipping up against Aberdeen at Ibrox in midweek.

The Steelmen got a draw at Ibrox earlier in the season, though, and can be a force to be reckoned with on their home patch.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The playing surface tends to be excellent at Fir Park but the groundstaff are having to work very hard in the run-up to the game.

Following torrential rain, a pitch inspection was required prior to Motherwell’s midweek clash with St Mirren and on Friday afternoon, more heavy rain caused problems.

Burrows posted a video on Twitter showing the efforts being made to prevent the tunnel from flooding.

The initial clip showed a handful of staff members, up to their ankles in water, working hard with various pieces of equipment while sandbags protected the entrance.

“We’ve had around 30mm of rain over the last few hours, which gave the team a lot of issues on trying to prevent the tunnel area flooding,” he wrote.

“However, with some sandbags, a pump, a hose, some Bow driers and hard work, we got there!

The pitch itself looked in relatively good condition in the background and a Motherwell spokesperson has reportedly since asserted that Sunday’s fixture isn’t under threat [Daily Record].

However, with a weather warning for rain in place for Saturday morning in North Lanarkshire and more rainfall forecast on Sunday, plenty more hard work will be required before kick-off.

A number of Rangers players have been ruled out of the game and several others are carrying knocks after the midweek draw with Aberdeen.
