Rangers take on Motherwell at Ibrox this afternoon in a crunch Scottish Premiership clash.

It’s second against fourth in the league, as Stephen Robinson’s side travel in search of revenge having been destroyed 7-1 on their last visit to the ground in November 2018.

Following the Gers’ Europa League clash against Porto on Thursday, Steven Gerrard promised that he would freshen up his team, without making wholesale changes [Rangers.co.uk].

As it turns out, four have been made in all.

After their impressive Europa League showing, Gerrard has retained the same back four, with Filip Helander keeping Nikola Katic out of the side.

In midfield, there are two changes. Out go Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara, and in come Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo.

There are two changes in the final third, too. While Brandon Barker retains his place, both Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent drop out. Replacing them are Greg Stewart and the top-flight’s leading goalscorer, Jermain Defoe.

The absence of Jack and Kent, who have both just returned from injury, as well as Morelos, is clearly concerning some fans.

Will this side have enough to win this afternoon?
