Rangers host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon as they aim to close the gap on league leaders Celtic.
Gers go into the contest with Tony Docherty’s men after a battling 1-0 triumph over Hearts in midweek, with Abdallah Sima’s first-half strike enough to win the match in Gorgie. The victory was much-needed given Celtic’s thumping win over the Jambos’ Edinburgh rivals Hibs on the same night and keeps Rangers apace in the title race.
One sour note for boss Philippe Clement at the moment, however, is the number of injuries he is having to contend with. But that shouldn’t be an excuse to collect three points against Dundee, who in fairness have started their season back in the top-flight admirably. So when is kick-off, how can you watch and what is our prediction? Here is everything you need to know about Rangers vs Dundee.

Rangers team and injury news
As mentioned, a baffled Clement is counting the cost of more Rangers stars needing attention on the treatment table. Borna Barisic and Tom Lawrence were the latest to succumb to injury in midweek, with the Croatian and the Englishman both picking up muscle problems.
Nicolas Raskin has been out for some time now after being stretchered off against Hearts in November, with Clement reporting that the midfielder’s rehab frustratingly isn’t going to plan.
Ryan Jack missed the midweek Jambos win and will be doubtful for this weekend’s Dundee clash, although he could be back fit for the Viaplay Cup Final against Aberdeen on December 17.
Kemar Roofe made his return to the fold as a substitute in midweek so he is in contention again. But winger Scott Wright missed the capital trip as he continues to fight a muscular problem.
Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Dundee

Despite the injury problems, Rangers showed on Wednesday night that victories can be ground out. Newly-promoted Dundee won’t be no pushovers, however, as they respectably sit seventh in the Premiership table with 18 points from 14 games.
They have been inconsistent though and have beaten only Livingston away from home in the Premiership this season. So that will go in Rangers’ favour, as will the last time the Ibrox side faced the Dee. Who will ever forget when Gers romped to a 5-0 victory at Dens Park last month after the delayed kick-off and a suspension of the game due to THAT pyrotechnics display?
Celtic are eight points ahead of Rangers at the moment. But the Dundee meeting offers a great chance to close that gap to five before the Hoops play Kilmarnock on Sunday at Rugby Park, a ground Celtic have already lost at this season.
