Rangers have described current SPFL plans to vote on the end of the league season as “abhorrent” with the financial needs of clubs being used as a carrot to lead them to a certain decision.
The SPFL have announced plans to put it to member clubs on how to end the season in the Championship, League One, League Two, with prize-money divvied out afterward.
Under the proposals, the league table would be decided on average points with winners promoted and losers relegated.

This proposal would see Dundee United, Raith Rovers, and Cove Rangers promoted, whilst Partick Thistle and Stranraer would be relegated.
Playoffs would be scrapped for the season.
The SPFL has also committed to consulting clubs on league restructuring should the proposals go through.
The decision in the Scottish Premiership cannot be taken until given the green light by UEFA but should the season be cancelled it is set to follow the same protocol.
In order for the resolution to pass it needs at least 75% of top-flight clubs to vote in favour of the proposal.
Rangers released a stinging statement in response to the SPFL plan, offering a counter “member’s resolution” in order to release much-needed cash now without taking decisions on league placings.
The Ibrox club has described the financial situation as “precarious” for all clubs and highlights that the money – not league titles – is the “priority” right now.

Rangers have said they “expect clubs to support our member’s resolution” whilst adding “it is abhorrent that certain clubs could be unfairly relegated.”
For the “avoidance of doubt”, Rangers firmly believe that “the 2019/20 season is only complete when all 38 games have been played to a finish.”
