Rangers took on Motherwell hoping to go five points clear at the top of the table with Philippe Clement knowing that they would be made to work for the three points and they made hard work for themselves.
The Gers boss mixed up his squad again for the return to Ibrox bringing in four new players and moving Mohamed Diomande up to a more attacking role.
Here are your Rangers player ratings for the clash with Motherwell in a game that we struggled from the first whistle in a horrendous display.

Rangers v Motherwell – Player ratings
Philippe Clement has a lot of good attacking options missing through injury but the gaffer trusts those coming in to do a job if the mentality is right although many let him down.
Jack Butland – 5
Helpless at Motherwell’s goals and had a couple of hairy moments with passbacks too.
James Tavernier – 5
Couldn’t fault effort but he resorted to his old ways too quickly.
Can’t have thrown as many crosses in for sometime, perfect from 12-yards.
Ridvan Yilmaz – 6
Slow start but was easily the best player in the first-half and created all of our best chances.
Connor Goldson – 3
Not at fault for Motherwell’s opener but looked like he was playing with roller skates on. Shocking.
John Souttar – 3
Culpable for the opening goal that caused all the problems and, like Goldson, was poor from almost the first whistle.
Seems to throw this type of performance in from time to time.

John Lundstram – 5
Couldn’t get anything going and spent most of his time playing horizontal passes.
Mohamed Diomande – 5
Didn’t look comfortable as a number ten and dropped deeper to replace Nico Raskin. Probably his poorest performance since signing.
Nicolas Raskin – 4
Looked rusty, tried to get things going but can tell he’s not played for a while and hooked for Tom Lawrence with more creativity needed.

Ross McCausland – 4
Can tell his confidence is low, he’s taking too long to make simple decisions and too many touches.
Dujon Sterling – 6
Great work rate but, if he is to play higher up, needs to have a final ball.
Should have scored at 1-1 but was indecisive and dragged his effort wide.
Ineffective.
Cyriel Dessers – 4
Blocked Souttar’s goal bound header on the line which pretty much sums up his afternoon.
Made the wrong move almost every time he had the ball.

Substitutes
Fabio Silva – 7
Changed the game.
Brought energy and pace to the attack and press.
Should have scored shortly after coming on and won the penalty.
Tom Lawrence – 7
Added energy and guile to the midfield, qualities that were sorely needed.
Kemar Roofe – 5
Eventually came on for the hapless Dessers but quality of service was the same as it had been for the previous 80 minutes.
