Rangers fans have been encouraging the club to follow in the footsteps of Premier League Leeds United and amend the BOXT sponsor on the club’s new home shirt.
Smart boiler company BOXT have paid to put sponsorship on the Ibrox side’s sleeve this season and it is presented as a thick white block which has sparked some discussion amongst fans.
Obviously the block is supposed to represent a boiler and the inclusion of the sponsor has been a bug bear for some as the club launched their new home kit for season 22/23.
One of the most popular Castore designs of their tenure as Rangers’ retailers, for plenty the BOXT sponsorship is too big and unsightly on the sleeve of the jersey.
But as grumbles continue regarding the sponsor from some quarters fans have pointed to an amendment made on the sleeve of Premier League Leeds United.
BOXT have a similar sleeve sponsorship deal with the Elland Road club but have updated the logo on the sleeve to just include an outline instead of a thick block of colour.
From a design perspective this clearly looks much better and many fans are hoping that any new releases with the sponsor, and the jerseys the side use this season, consider this amendment.
Grumbles surrounding the BOXT sponsorship aren’t the only commercial issues with the shirt either as Rangers’ deal with the now defunct Sportemon Go collapses.
Rangers are offering supporters the chance to change the sponsor on the back of the jersey and didn’t include any imagery of it in the marketing for the new home kit.
The updated sponsor will be French electrical engineering company Socomec – read more about that deal HERE.
