Rangers fans are starting to see a glimmer of hope this season as the club’s new-look squad begins to find some rhythm.
Ahead of a monumental week in Glasgow, Rangers are getting ready to host Spurs in the Europa League and compete against Celtic for the Premier Sports Cup at Hampden.
But before those seismic ties kick off this week, Rangers fans can reflect on a job well done in Dingwall after the Gers ran out 3-0 winners over Ross County.
And just like Rangers scored three goals to down the Staggies in the Highlands, three Ibrox stars have been named in WhoScored.com’s Scottish Premiership Team of the Week.
Rangers trio named in Team of the Week
There were a number of top performers as Rangers made it four wins on the bounce and three from three in the Scottish Premiership against Ross County.
It was a comfortable and routine victory built off the Gers team getting the fundamentals right, with moments of quality from the club’s attacking options proving the difference.
Neil McCann courted controversy by talking down a wonderful Hamza Igamane opener, focusing on an inconclusive deflection rather than the quality of the strike.
The young Moroccan has been on fine form in recent weeks and continued that to open the scoring in Dingwall and earn his place in the WhoScored.com Team of the Week.
Earning an impressive 8.57 rating for his performance against Ross County, Igamane was joined in the XI by two of his Rangers teammates.
The first of which is Rangers captain James Tavernier, who scored the club’s third goal in the impressive Ross County rout and earned an 8.04 rating.
But whilst it was Brazilian striker Danilo who scored Rangers’ second, it’s not the ex-Feyenoord hitman who finds himself in the pan Scottish XI.
Instead it’s veteran Nigerian centre-back Leon Balogun, who had yet another impressive match at the heart of the defence and scored an 8.56 rating.
Philippe Clement says Rangers ‘getting better’
It’s not just the Rangers support or WhoScored.com who’ve been hailing the Rangers team either.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement was delighted by his Gers team’s efforts in the victory and waxed lyrical about the progress being made by his side come full time.
Claiming the victory over County was ‘well deserved’, Clement can feel pretty justified in claiming that his team are certainly taking the right steps forward.
“(It was) a very clear victory, what’s not easy in this place with the reputation they have and already last season with this manager,” Clement said come full-time.
”So well deserved.
“Three really good goals, we could’ve scored more. We had several really good attacks also with a few good saves of the goalkeeper.
“Our finishing is getting better, more shots on target. You see the development of the team week by week, what we’ve been working.
“All the things that three months ago we made mistakes in a way, two months ago a little bit less, one month ago a little bit less.
“It becomes better and better that whoever we are putting, they all know their job to do on the pitch individually and collectively and their responsibility in those things.
“So you see that things are starting to gel together better and better, what is a normal process.
“But it’s massive to win these kind of games also with three goals difference and to keep the clean sheet and to play a mature game like the team did.
“But it’s because of all the things that they’ve been through the last couple of months, to learn out of that.”
