Rangers winger Ryan Kent has reportedly told the Gers that he plans to leave at the end of the season, amid interest from Leeds United among other clubs.

Turkish news outlet Fanatik have reported that Fenerbahce want to sign Rangers winger Kent on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.

Leeds and Burnley are also reported to be interested in securing the services of the former Liverpool winger in the summer transfer window.

The report has added that Kent has told Rangers that he does not intend to stay at Ibrox, but he has made it clear to the Gers that he has not signed an official contract with any other club.

Rangers manager Michael Beale said last week that the Scottish Premiership club have not offered Kent a new contract, adding that, along with Alfredo Morelos, he is “free to speak to other clubs”.

Intriguing

It is quite curious regarding what is happening, or has happened, between Rangers and Ryan Kent.

While Beale has publicly said that Rangers have not offered a new contract to the winger, the player has reportedly told the club that he is leaving.

Back in March, Beale said, as quoted in The Daily Record, that he was planning to speak to the 26-year-old – described as “unbelievable” by Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin in Football Scotland in March 2023 – about his future.

What happened since then?

Perhaps Kent thinks that he could do better than stay at Rangers and find a club which would be better for him.

Or maybe during talks, Rangers realised that they could not afford to pay Kent what he wants as salary in his new deal.

The former Liverpool winger has been a good player for Rangers over the years, but all good things come to an end.
