The report has claimed that Rangers manager Michael Beale personally wants the 27-year-old striker at Ibrox.
Alfredo Morelos is leaving Rangers, and the former Scottish Premiership giants are reportedly keen Shankland.
TEAMtalk have reported that Rangers are “showing strong interest in Shankland” and are considering making a bid for the Scotland international.

In our view, Rangers should seriously consider making a bid for Heart of Midlothian striker Lawrence Shankland in the summer transfer window.

Rangers do need to sign a striker, and the 27-year-old would be a smart signing for the Gers.
The Scotland international did extremely well for Hearts this season.
Shankland scored 24 goals and gave four assists in 37 Scottish Premiership appearances for Hearts this season.
Rangers will aim to win the Scottish Premiership title next season and will also look to qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
So, the Gers need a striker who can come in and make an immediate impact in the team.
Described as a “natural goalscorer” by former Rangers winger Neil McCann on BBC Sportsound in July 2020, Shankland could find the chance to move to the Gers hugely appealing.
