Rangers have been linked with Jerry Yates, and it has emerged that the Blackpool striker will cost as much as £4 million in transfer fees.

Rangers learn transfer fee to sign Jerry Yates

Earlier in the season, The Scottish Sun reported that Rangers were among the clubs who were interested in signing Jerry Yates from Blackpool.

The report in October 2022 claimed that Rangers were scouting the 26-year-old striker.

Rangers manager Michael Beale said last week that he wants to sign at least two centre-forwards in the summer transfer window.

And Yates, described as “fantastic” by former Blackpool midfielder Richie Wellens in The Blackpool Gazette in April 2021, is available.

According to The Sun, Blackpool are looking for £4 million in transfer fees for the 26-year-old.

The report has claimed that the Tangerines have turned down a bid of £2.5 million from an unnamed club.

West Bromwich Albion, Bristol City and Ipswich Town all are interested in Yates, according to the report.

Impressive

Jerry Yates is one of the best strikers in the Championship and played well for Blackpool this season.

The 26-year-old forward made 39 starts and two substitute appearances in the league.

Yates scored 14 goals and gave four assists in those games.

What is remarkable about Yates is that he is a very versatile attacking player who can operate in a number of roles.

The Blackpool star played out wide as a winger, in a central attacking midfield role, and as the main striker this season.
