Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz has not had the best of seasons at Ibrox, but he reportedly does not plan on leaving in the summer transfer window despite having interest from Besiktas.

Journalist Serdar Sarıdağ has reported on Twitter that Besiktas are interested in re-signing Yilmaz from Rangers in the summer of 2023.

Sarıdağ, who has over 142,000 followers on Twitter, has claimed that Besiktas are serious about the left-back.

However, according to the reporter, the 21-year-old Turkey international defender wants to stay at Rangers.

Stay at Ibrox

In our view, Ridvan Yilmaz should stay at Rangers for at least another season.

And Rangers themselves should not be too keen on offloading him in the summer transfer window.

After all, the left-back joined the Gers only in the summer of 2022.

As reported by Sky Sports in July 2022, Rangers paid Besiktas an initial transfer fee of £3.4 million to Besiktas for Yilmaz, who signed a five-year contract with the Scottish Premiership club.

The youngster has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season.

Yilmaz also made one appearance in the UEFA Champions League, played twice in the Scottish League Cup, and came on as a substitute twice in the Scottish Cup for the Gers this campaign.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was the Rangers manager when Yilmaz joined the Gers.

Michael Beale is now in charge of the Scottish giants.

Beale will take a very close look at Yilmaz in pre-season, and the 21-year-old will then have to take his chance.
