Rangers reportedly like Freddie Woodman but Preston North End coach Ryan Lowe says there is ‘no chance’ the goalkeeper leaves for Ibrox during the summer transfer window.
Mick Beale admitted over the weekend that Alfredo Morelos would be leaving when his contract expires in a matter of weeks and, while he is yet to confirm what the future holds for McGregor, it would be a surprise if Rangers’ long-serving shot-stopper was not going the same way.
McGregor is, after all, 41 years of age these days.

Rangers cannot afford to kick the can down the road any longer either. And the good news is that they don’t plan to.
Who will be Rangers new goalkeeper?
Angus Gunn, Jack Butland and the aforementioned Woodman have all emerged as targets for a Gers side facing up to what Beale describes as the ‘biggest rebuild in a number of years’.
Butland, on loan at Manchester United from Crystal Palace, will be a free-agent in July. Gunn, meanwhile, may be tempted by a fresh challenge after Norwich City missed out on the play-offs.
But Woodman is not going anywhere, as far as Lowe is concerned. The former Newcastle United youngster played down reports of a £3.5 million move north of the border recently, and still has a further two years remaining on his Preston contract (The Sun).
“(Selling) Freddie Woodman? No, no chance,” Lowe tells Lancs Live. “No player is for sale. Not at all.
“Generating funds will be (done) in a different way. They are the conversations we’ve already started having. But no player is going to get sold to generate funds. No chance.”
As things stand, Butland appears the most likely addition.
According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are closing in on a deal that would see the England international reunite with his former Three Lions team-mate Joe Hart in Glasgow, adding another intriguing subplot to an already enthralling Old Firm rivalry.
