Popstar Harry Styles is set to kick off his new world tour at the home of Rangers football club as the former One Direction star announces a gig at Ibrox Stadium.

The English singer-songwriter, 27, is set to play at Ibrox on the 11th of June 2022 in the first leg of his Love On Tour before travelling the world and finishing up in Brazil in December.

Harry Styles is one of the world’s biggest popstars and Rangers will be welcoming thousands to the famous ground for the gig.

The popstar will also be following in the footsteps of several famous names who’ve played at Ibrox over the years, with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, and even Elton John heading up a list of several big names who’ve played the ground.

The news also comes as Rangers build the New Edmiston House space as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Rangers are developing a new events space as part of the project which will be able to host cosier gigs than the type Harry Styles will be expecting to play.

The space will add to the vibrant music scene in and around Glasgow and will be able to sit 750 people and host events up to 1300 [Rangers].

As part of the project – which also see a new store, fan zone and club museum built at Ibrox – Rangers have also hired David Pyatt as general manager.

Pyatt has had over 20 years experience working in the music industry and the project’s manager is excited about the culture returning to the famous stadium.

“I am really proud that Rangers are looking to develop that side of the business too, especially coming out of the last 18 months,” said Pyatt [Rangers].

“There are a lot of bands and artists who are chomping at the bit to get out and play in front of a crowd and Glasgow has some of the best crowds in the world so we are looking to develop a venue that is really going to celebrate both of those things.

“There’s already an existing relationship there, although it has not been around for a while but Rangers have had Bon Jovi play here before as well as Bryan Adams and Elton John.

“We are going to offer more on matchdays, just a little bit extra to make the day more exciting.

“We hope to make it more fun for families, there will be a bigger and brighter store and the museum looks to be incredible and will really celebrate the club’s rich history.”

Whilst Harry Styles will be playing in Ibrox, Rangers have also endeavoured to provide regular updates regarding the Edmiston House project as it develops.
