Rangers have introduced cashless payments at Ibrox as elements of the club’s catering finally enter the 21st century.
As part of a new partnership with Sporting Pay, the club say that together they “will introduce cashless payment solutions throughout Ibrox Stadium.”
With the increasingly outdated nature of cash transactions, this is definitely a step in the right direction for the Glasgow giant.

According to Rangers, this new partnership will introduce cashless payment solutions throughout the stadium via Electronic Point of Sale terminals and contactless card payment machines.
These changes will take place at all catering kiosks and certain hospitality lounges.
It is an understandably exciting evolution for the club and one which is the latest step into the 21st century for Ibrox Stadium.
These changes will allow supporters to pay for products using cashless options such as chip and PIN and contactless for the first time.
“Sporting Pay’s technology will allow supporters to quickly and efficiently make card payments within the Stadium footprint enhancing the matchday experience and reducing queue times,” said James Bisgrove, Rangers Director of Commercial & Marketing [Rangers].

“We are continually looking to drive technological advancements at Ibrox to improve the matchday experience and are delighted to launch with Sporting Pay as an indicator towards future similar initiatives, such as an in-stadia WiFi solution for supporters.”
The cashless payments will be introduced in phases, with the first options being installed in March and systems fully rolled out by the end of this season.
