Rangers are interested in signing Thomas Kristensen with the giant AGF defender believed to be emerging as a top summer transfer target.
That’s according to the latest Transfervinduet podcast from BT over in Denmark, as relayed by Tipsbladet.
It’s stated that a number of clubs around Europe are interested in Kristensen.
Yet Rangers appear to be pushing the hardest for Kristensen’s signature, even with German newspaper Bild reporting in December that Mainz – managed by a Danish coach in Bo Svensson – wanting the defender.
Rangers are allegedly so interested in Kristensen that he has already been to Scotland to look around Glasgow.
AGF’s demands are unclear but the defender is under contract until December 2026.
That means Rangers may have to pay a considerable fee for the 21-year-old in order to secure a summer deal.
Who is Rangers target Thomas Kristensen?
Kristensen was born in Galten, just outside the city of Aarhus.
Nearby AGF spotted Kristensen and brought him into their ranks in 2013, only to see him move on to Velje four years later.
That didn’t last long though as Kristensen returned to AGF after just 12 months, and that return has paid off.
Kristensen has now turned out 38 times for the AGF first team, scoring twice in the process.
Touted as one of the top young talents in Denmark, Kristensen has also bagged four caps for the Danish Under-21’s.
Kristensen is a truly giant centre back at a huge 6ft 6in tall but has also played a couple of games as a holding midfielder in his career.
Kristensen has played on the right side of a back three for AGF and has shown an ability to be used in build-up play from that role.
The 21-year-old appears to be an exciting talent and would fit a similar mould to Nicolas Raskin in terms of having real potential for the future.
