Rangers take on FC Midtjylland in Denmark this evening, in the first leg of their Third Round Europa League Qualifying tie.
The game marks a big step up in quality of opponent from what has gone before.
The Gers dispatched St Joseph’s 10-0 on aggregate in the first round, before Progres Niederkorn put up more of a fight but possessed little quality.

Midtjylland, on the other hand, have some pedigree in Europe. Although they lost overall on aggregate, they defeated Manchester United 2-1 at the MCH Arena back in 2016.
The make-up of their side has changed greatly since then, but they’ve made a great start to their own domestic season, winning their first four fixtures.
Therefore, Stevie G’s men will certainly have to be on their toes and his team selection reflects that.
Following the weekend victory at Kilmarnock, Allan McGregor returns between the sticks to replace Wes Foderingham.

Elsewhere, there are three further alterations.
At left-back, Borna Barisic comes out for fit-again Jon Flanagan.
Meanwhile, it appears that yesterday’s press conference did drop a hint after all. Jordan Jones earns a start, replacing Sheyi Ojo, who was disappointing at the weekend.
