Rangers support rise to the occasion amid Celtic League Cup Final update

Rangers have thanked the club’s fans for their “loyal support” after the Ibrox side’s tickets for the League Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden have sold out.

The Gers support have snapped up the briefs for the Hampden clash and will now be heading to the National Stadium in sold out numbers to compete for the first silverware of the season.

The club have also acknowledged that – due to the immense demand – the situation means that not every supporter who wanted a ticket will be able to buy one.

This also comes amid much debate surrounding the system that Rangers use to divide out tickets for showpiece events such as Finals, with the tiered MyGers reward scheme at the centre of it.

“The club’s allocation of tickets for the Old Firm Viaplay cup final has all been sold,” reads a Rangers statement.

“We regret and acknowledge this means that not every supporter had an opportunity to purchase a ticket.

“Given the incredible level of support our club enjoys, the ticket allocation for a fixture of this nature can never come close to satisfying the demand.”

Rangers sell out Celtic League Cup Final tickets

As explained back in January, Rangers fans would be offered the opportunity to buy tickets for the showpiece League Cup Final with Celtic via a six-tiered system.

This started with season ticket holders who were on the CCCS scheme and also MyGers members, all the way through to general sale, with demand so high it never reached the final stage.

Rangers recognise the situation with the reality being that even if Hampden was double the capacity, it would probably still sell-out of tickets for the League Cup Final against Celtic.

Rangers are set to face off against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup Final at Hampden on Sunday February 27th at 3pm, with the Parkhead side the current holders of the trophy.
