Rangers signed Connor Goldson from Brighton during the summer transfer window. Now, in an interview with the Official Rangers Podcast, he has opened up on his first season in Glasgow.
He had shown glimpses of quality during his time in England, but wasn’t getting the amount of first team football he was looking for.

Therefore, when Rangers came knocking with the offer of a four-year contract, he jumped at the opportunity.
Almost ever since, he has been immense at the back.
During a tumultuous first half of the season, he was the constant at the heart of defence with Joe Worrall, Nikola Katic and Gareth McAuley all in and out of the side.

After recovering from an ankle injury that lingered after the winter break, it’s been more of the same in 2019.
Now with a first choice partner in Worrall, Rangers are looking solid at the back.

In fact, they only conceded two goals in February. Yet, he’s still found the league challenging.
“It’s a lot better than I expected”, Goldson told the
Official Rangers Podcast when asked about the standard of the SPL.
“Obviously coming from down south you don’t really know the standard of a lot of the teams here.”
“But, I’ve enjoyed playing football again and getting so many games under my belt. I’m just enjoying playing every week and I think that shows in the way I’ve performed over the season.”

It’s encouraging to hear Rangers’ vice-captain speak so highly of the standard and of his time at Ibrox, so far.
He has proved to be an excellent addition to the team and Steven Gerrard will be hoping to keep hold of him for many years to come.
