Rangers have hinted that there is a buyback clause in the contract of Partick Thistle bound former Academy striker Zak Rudden.
The talented 19-year-old forward was tipped for big things at Ibrox but a lack of game time at Rangers combined with ever-increasing competition has saw him head across the City.
Announcing the news on the Ibrox side’s official website, Rangers suggested they retained an option to return for Zak in the future.

“Rangers Football Club can today confirm that striker Zak Rudden has joined Partick Thistle on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, with the club retaining options on Zak for the future,” explains the club statement [Rangers].
Rudden joins Partick Thistle after spending the first half of the season on loan at English League Two Plymouth Argyle.
Despite making 18 appearances for the English outfit, Rudden could only manage three goals.
By moving to Partick Thistle, the striker returns to a level which saw him excel last season with Falkirk whereby in contrast to his time at Plymouth, he netted 12 in 31.

A talented forward who once earned comparisons to the great Ally McCoist – Rangers’ greatest ever goalscorer – there were high hopes for Rudden in Govan.
There clearly remains some level of interest from Rangers but now Rudden will be plying his trade in Firhill instead – much to the delight of Jags fans.
