Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to join Sevilla

The Spanish news outlet has claimed that Morelos, who is out of contract at Rangers in the summer of 2023, has agreed a pre-contract with Sevilla.

The 26-year-old Colombia international striker will reportedly complete the move to the Spanish club at the end of the season.

Exit inevitable

It was inevitable that Alfredo Morelos would leave Rangers at the end of the season.

That no new deal has been agreed between the £33,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker and the Scottish Premiership club shows that a parting of the ways was always likely.

Morelos has done well for Rangers over the years, but he has not really taken the Gers to the next level, at least on a consistent basis.

Consistency has been an issue, and there have also been question marks over his temperament.

The 26-year-old has scored goals, but he has not always delivered in the big games.

So far this season, Morelos has made 10 starts and 15 substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers.

The striker has scored nine goals and given four assists in those matches.

In 2021-22, Morelos scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in the Scottish Premiership, and in 2020-21, the striker scored 11 goals and gave three assists in the league.
