Rangers star Scott Arfield is going through a poor run of form at the minute, and this could have a negative impact when it comes to talks regarding his contract, which is due to expire at the end of the season.
The midfielder has had a strange season, he didn’t get much of a sniff under Steven Gerrard at the beginning of the campaign but when Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrived, he was thrust back into the starting XI on numerous occasions and impressed.

Long gone are the days where Arfield can play twice in one week and still put in excellent performances, he should be managed more carefully as the run-in approaches.
Rangers star Scott Arfield faces crucial last few weeks as contract decision awaits Gio
The 33-year-old has been at the club since 2018 and was excellent under Gerrard as we won the league title last season.
There did appear to be some interest in him from Turkish sides Alanyaspor and Hatayspor [DailyRecord] in the January transfer window, but nothing came of the interest.
It would have been a move that could have benefitted the player from a financial point of view, but his interest remains in winning trophies and featuring in European competitions.
The former Canadian international even retired from national team duty to focus on his club career and there is no doubt that he will play an important part over the next few weeks.

Gio will need to manage him better due to the recent poor performances, however, and maybe introduce him as an impact sub. Whatever happens, the Ibrox faithful know Arfield is going to give everything for the club when he plays.
