Legendary Romanian footballer Gheorghe Hagi appeared to pour cold water on those reports linking son Ianis to Red Bull Leipzig as he hails his “perfect” spell at Rangers.
The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Galatasaray midfielder was speaking with Hagi linked to the German Bundesliga by a Romanian press which routinely criticises the 22-year-old [Digisport]

In recent weeks, Hagi has emerged as a viable starting XI option and has gone from strength to strength now he has begun to find his feet in the country.
To assist with this, dad Gheorghe is also spending lockdown in Glasgow as he seeks to support the 22-year-old Romanian wonderkid in a pivotal point in his career.
The proud father claims Ianis’ Rangers spell is “going perfect” so far, comments which appear to reject the notion he could leave for pastures new.
“I’m happy to be in Scotland. It’s really nice,” Hagi told Romanian journalist Emmanuel Rosu.
I’m watching football at Ianis’ house on Sky all day long. I am learning.
“Also, I didn’t go to any of his games, I didn’t want to perturb any Covid protocol.
“It’s going perfect for Ianis here. We’re together. We’ll always be”
Hagi has impressed in patches this season, the creative midfielder scoring four goals and laying on 10 assists in 26 appearances this season.

The Hagi family certainly appear happy in Glasgow and the Gers will be hoping this continues in the months to come.
If the suggestion that Hagi Jnr could head to Red Bull Leipzig wasn’t funny enough, wait until you hear the one about Hagi Snr and Celtic.
