Legendary footballing figure and Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is “focusing” on bringing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to the Premier League, according to a report from Italy.
However, Bouraoui’s comments and those links to Napoli have been rebuffed by agent Michael Gorman who claims that Bouraoui has no connection with Morelos or agency World in Motion.
In fact, Gorman described Bouraoui as “a liar”.
“We do not know him [Bouraoui],” Gorman told Colombian outlet Golombianos.
“It has nothing to do with us or with Morelos. He is a liar.”
Given these reports are coming out of Italy and appear to centre around the Napoli story – which has now been rebuffed – they should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt.
The situation concerning Morelos’ future at Ibrox was ramped up in recent days following a spate of reports and the striker’s exclusion from the marketing campaign for the new kit release.
This created an air of uncertainty over the player’s future given his standing as the Ibrox talisman but there has been no official suggestion the striker will be moving on.
Steven Gerrard admitted that if the price was right Morelos could be sold but reiterated that he was eager to keep his best players.
“I suppose what you want me to say is, whether he will be here next year. That’s the million-dollar question,” said Gerrard [Daily Record].
“I want all my best players here, I’ve said that many times.
“For us to be successful, we need our best players fit, available and out there on the pitch.
“But you and I know that every player has his price. Will we get bids for our best players? It’s quite possible.
“That’s something I can’t control, so it’s something we are just going to have to manage going forward.”
Alfredo Morelos has previously described playing in the English Premier League as his “dream” and the 24-year-old Colombian international may well be tempted if there is any truth in the Everton links.
Whilst all the talk about Morelos’ future continues in the press across Europe and South America, the striker is back in Scotland and back training with the first-team squad.
Rangers fans are defiant that the 29-goal striker is going nowhere ahead of an exciting new season.
