The agent of Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has launched his second attack on Scottish football’s treatment of his client in under a month after the 1-0 win over Livingston.
The Colombian striker would be the hero of the hour with a late winner in the match, but the game was tarnished by an incident in the first half involving a penalty shout and the forward.
Tearing through on goal Morelos was taken out by Livingston keeper Max Stryek in what replays proved was a stonewall penalty.
However, referee John Beaton instead opted to give Morelos a yellow card for simulation in a move which drew the ire of Gers boss Steven Gerrard.
The Ibrox gaffer was sent to the stands at half-time after remonstrating with Beaton and the club now faces a nervous wait over any potential ban for their manager.
But Gerrard wasn’t the only one left fuming as Morelos’ agent Michael Gorman let loose on what he sees as “comical” treatment of his player in Scotland.
At this point, it’s almost comical.
SPFL referees clearly treating Morelos unfairly in comparison to other players.
Incredible restraint shown by Alfredo to not lose his cool after the terrible call. https://t.co/bGMmi1h5Lk

“At this point, it’s almost comical,” tweeted Gorman.
“SPFL referees clearly treating Morelos unfairly in comparison to other players. Incredible restraint shown by Alfredo to not lose his cool after the terrible call.”
These comments come after Gorman had previously highlighted the different treatment Morelos receives following a retrospective ban earlier in the season.
Morelos missed three matches after a largely nothing incident with Hibs defender Ryan Porteous was blown out of proportion by the press and he was cited by the compliance officer system.
Upon the appointment of a new compliance officer, Gorman appealed for his player to be treated the same as everyone else going forward.
We can only hope that Morelos will finally receive fair treatment in the SPFL going forward.
The current double standard applied by the FA is an embarrassment to the game. https://t.co/207oI1wtTd

Morelos is the toast of the blue side of Glasgow after the victory over Livingston with Steven Gerrard’s post-match comments causing a bit of stir amongst fans.
The Gers support have adopted a new club anthem in celebration of the comments after Gerrard pointed out Alfie was dancing away in the changing rooms after the match.
