Exciting Rangers academy starlet Kai Kennedy and Ross McCrorie, who is currently on loan at Portsmouth, have travelled with the Gers on their mid-season trip to Dubai.

Both players could be spotted in photos shared by the official Rangers Twitter account of the players arriving at Glasgow airport.

The Daily Record also reports that Academy centre-back Lewis Mayo was amongst those heading to the UAE.

Rehab for McCrorie and a big chance for Kennedy?

This is likely to only be a temporary return to Rangers for McCrorie, who is currently out injured.

The Scotland U21 skipper was forced off during Pompey’s win against Ipswich on 23 December with a recurrence of a hamstring injury and has missed Pompey’s last four matches as a result.

He’s likely heading to Dubai to continue his rehab in the heat, ahead of a return to England later in the month.

The trip is set to provide a real opportunity to impress for 17-year-old Kennedy, though, who was recently tipped for big things by Steven Gerrard [RangersTV].

The exciting attacker travelled with the first team as 19th man for the Premiership fixture against Hamilton in November, and if he impresses over the next few days or so, he could feature in the friendly against Lokomotiv Tashkent and in the Scottish Cup tie against Stranraer on Friday 17 January.
