Rangers starlet Josh McPake hasn’t played for over two months as injury threatens to ruin his loan spell at EFL League One club Morecambe.
After a promising stint in the English fourth tier with Harrogate Town last season, McPake signed a contract extension at Ibrox during the summer before heading back down south to join the Shrimps on a season-long loan deal.

He made an encouraging start, scoring against Premier League club Burnley in pre-season, but injury soon halted his progress.
After recovering from a relatively minor issue sustained late in pre-season, he featured sporadically in the league across August and September as he attempted to establish himself under former Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson.
However, his last appearance came in a 3-3 draw with Accrington Stanley on 25 September.
The 20-year-old has been struggling with an ankle injury and although it was suggested by Morecambe physio Simon Farnworth at the end of October that he was close to returning to training [Morecambefc.com], he’s yet to make a matchday squad.

He’s now almost halfway through his stint at the Mazuma Stadium and it certainly isn’t going to plan so far.
Rangers will be keeping a close eye on his situation and if they feel he isn’t being given enough opportunities when he gets back fit, they do have the option to recall him in January.
