Rangers have been boosted by the news that Fashion Sakala “will be involved” against Malmo at Ibrox after an injury – and he may well get a fan wish if things go right for the Gers.

The Zambian international appears to be an infectiously positive character but like everyone coming into Scottish football, may require some time to settle.

Fashion’s early introduction to life at Ibrox was interrupted with an injury which ruled him out of the Dundee United defeat but Steven Gerrard has confirmed Sakala will return this evening.

“We were pretty limited last week but more positive now,” said Gerrard [Rangers].

“Hagi returns to the squad, Balogun is fit and available, Sakala is fit and will be involved in the squad as is Alfredo.

“A real positive update. Only [Nikola] Katic, [Ryan] Jack and the suspensions missing.”

Rangers saw Fashion score against Real Madrid in pre-season and they’ll be hoping the pacey forward can properly announce himself this evening.

If he does – and if Rangers get the result we’re all hoping for – then perhaps the fans will treat him to the Bouncy.

The striker mentioned the famous Ibrox celebration after scoring against Madrid and claimed then he’s very excited to see the fans in action.

“I was very excited and I was very happy to play in the presence of the fans,” Sakala told Rangers TV.

“Yesterday I was surprised by the noise and still my teammates were telling me that I have to wait until the stadium is full and that I haven’t seen how they bounce, so I’m waiting for that!”

If everything goes right tonight, then Fashion won’t be waiting much longer as 50k fans prepare to return to Ibrox for the first time in 17 months.

Here’s our predicted XI for the match as Rangers look to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg in Sweden.
