Rangers star Kemar Roofe tattoed ’55’ onto a friend’s leg before sending a message about 56 in the caption of an Instagram post.
Roofe joined the Gers last summer from Anderlecht and despite a number of injuries, played a big role in bringing silverware back to Ibrox.
He scored 18 goals and notched three assists across all competitions, with ten of the goals and two of the assists coming in the Premiership.
Rangers’ 55th top-flight title was the first major honour of the 28-year-old’s career and he did plenty of celebrating with his teammates after it was confirmed.
That may have been a while ago now, but Roofe was given the chance to tattoo ’55’ onto a friend’s leg on Tuesday and he went for it.
However, in an Instagram post that showed him inking the number and his signature, he made it clear that his focus is now very much on defending the title.
“For bookings please email…no DMs,” he wrote. “Signing off 55 and leaving it in the history book with my guy @cubbsnoggtattoo because 56 needs to be got.”
By the time of writing, the post had received over 12k likes and plenty of Rangers fans left comments praising the forward.
Roofe has had a disrupted start to 2021/22, with suspension rendering him unavailable for both the Champions League qualifying tie against Malmo and the Europa League playoff against Alashkert.
However, he already has three goals from four domestic appearances and will be looking to kick on after the international break.
