Rangers star Ryan Kent would never join Celtic – so why suggest it?

A journalist was clearly trying to mix the pot when he asked Celtic boss Neil Lennon if he ever considered moving for Rangers winger Ryan Kent.

The reporter posed the question to Lennon as he strangely grilled the Celtic boss over the £7.5m transfer [Sky Sports] of the Liverpool winger to Ibrox.

And regardless of Lennon’s answer, how delusional and arrogant must someone be to think Kent would ever choose Parkhead over Ibrox?

The baiting social media thing over Celtic apparently flexing their financial power to get Kent through the door was tiresome when it was just supporters.

It was cringeworthy to hear it come out the mouth of a journalist.

Rangers have proven that they could raise the money to sign Kent by, well, signing the immensely talented 22-year-old.

The winger clearly wanted to come back to Ibrox and Rangers clearly wanted Kent to come back to Glasgow, signing the winger on a four-year deal.

The fact that so many Sevco bloggers, rival supporters and even journalists have reacted so quizzically to the enter thing has just been a bonus.

This idea that Celtic could’ve somehow come in and snatched Ryan Kent away from Ibrox is a tragically misplaced one, even more so when it’s members of the press peddling it.

It’s baiting, negative reporting looking for a reaction instead of any genuine insight. It offers nothing.

And if there was any doubt over whether Ryan Kent would’ve turned down a move to the dark side of Glasgow, you only need to look at his latest Instagram post.
