For many Rangers fans, keeping hold of star man Alfredo Morelos will be described as one of the biggest successes of the transfer window.
After all, the Colombian striker was reportedly the subject of a £16.25m bid earlier in the window with the player being dropped after having his “head turned” by the interest.

It looked nailed on he was bound for pastures new.
But whilst Morelos remains a Rangers player beyond the deadline, it didn’t stop a late bid arriving for the striker before the window closed.
According to The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell, the Bears turned down a meagre loan bid for the Colombian forward from a Serie A club over the weekend.
The bid allegedly contained a low-ball loan fee of £1.8m and an option to buy figure which was below the amount originally offered by Lille.
The team remained unnamed by Campbell until Scottish Daily Mail chief football writer Stephen McGowan claimed that the side in question was Torino.

Given Morelos had previously been linked to the likes of Fiorentina and AC Milan during the window this would’ve come as a surprise to some fans.
Whatever the case, the bid certainly didn’t match the reported £20m price tag placed on the striker by Rangers, and going by Morelos’ inconsistent performances, it’s little wonder.
If the Ibrox club stand any chance of securing that fee for the player in the future then they will need more from Morelos who so far hasn’t reached his best for the entirety of 2020.
If Alfredo Morelos doesn’t knuckle down and start producing the sort of form we seen from him in the second half of 2019, then we’ll be lucky to get Lille’s opening bid for the player, let alone their final one.

Morelos might be open to a dream move out of Rangers, but unless he recentres his focus at Ibrox, he’ll almost certainly be lucky to get it.
Rangers too will almost certainly be lucky to get the millions they want for the enigmatic striker.
