Rangers star makes his point with Ibrox referee blunder suggestion

The officials in Scotland did not have a good weekend, which led to Philippe Clement looking for clarity for one call in particular that went against Rangers.

Over half of the top-flight fixtures saw managers not impressed with appeals against red cards also being put in, although one of these is purely for show and to ramp up the pressure – I’ll let you do the maths.

Philippe Clement and Rangers have been a bit more dignified, however, Kemar Roofe, has taken to social media unhappy with what he clearly felt was a key decision missed by Alan Muir and his team at Ibrox.

Rangers decision questioned with silent Kemar Roofe protest

At 2-1 down, the Gers boss was looking for a way back into the game and brought on Roofe, currently trying to improve his match fitness.

The 31-year old might not be reliable in terms of fitness but he has – other than maybe Jermaine Defoe – consistently been the squad’s best finisher in his time at the club.

Even making cameo appearances, he usually finds himself getting at least one chance.

Posting on X, a moment that was missed by officials saw Rangers robbed of what could have been a second penalty with Stephen McGinn getting up close and personal with Kemar Roofe.

It’s such a clear penalty it’s embarassing.

Roofe is just a step away from a free shot at goal from six yards out but can’t get to the ball because he is being held back, by the time he does get to the ball, Liam Kelly has reacted and closed the space down.

Not only should VAR have seen this and asked Muir to look again at the monitor but the man in the middle should have seen it at full speed.

It’s the latest in a long line of calls lately that have been questionable and one of a few on the day.

To think that opposing fans say they never get anything in their favour at Ibrox, Motherwell got, at least, two game changing decisions go their way.

Hopefully, Rangers don’t have to rely on the referees doing their job in the future and that players like Kemar Roofe take matters into their own hands.
