Rangers star likely to leave amid £20m exit reports, says Italian ex-Ger

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is likely to leave Ibrox amid reports linking him with a £20m move to Italian side Lazio, according to former Gers striker Marco Negri.

The former Italian forward was speaking as reports around Serie A have linked both Lazio and Napoli to the Colombian firebrand.

Whilst there has been nothing concrete yet in terms of interest for the forward, Negri is becoming increasingly convinced Morelos won’t be at Rangers come the end of the transfer window.

“Morelos is a young man who has already done very well,” Negri told the Sunday Post.

“He has great physical strength – an advantage when you are playing in Scotland where the defenders can be very tough – and an excellent ability to turn chances into goals.

“His scoring ratio is very high and, while numbers are not everything in football, they do count.

“They will have been carefully analysed by a lot of clubs and, because his numbers are so good, I think Morelos’ experience at Rangers is ending.

“He will probably change clubs and I’d like to see him in Italy. Lazio can be the right team for him.

“Why? Because I believe Simone Inzaghi is an excellent coach. We have already seen the work he has done on Felipe Caicedo.”

Football agent Miki Bouraroui also caused a stir in the press when he suggested Lazio’s Serie A rivals Napoli were considering a move for Morelos and that they’d held talks about his future [CN24].

This was rubbished by the striker’s agent Michael Gorman, who branded Bouraroui a “liar” [Golombianos].
