Rangers star Kemar Roofe has provided a heartwarming update on Instagram after missing the club’s weekend fixture at Dundee United due to a family emergency.
Roofe had been due to be involved against the Terrors at Tannadice but pulled out at the last minute.

“Kemar Roofe’s young child is in hospital,” tweeted Rangers after the 1-0 defeat. “Please respect his privacy at this time. Everyone at Rangers wishes him well.”
The post received over 17k likes and a thousand comments, with Bears and rival fans offering their support.
In what many supporters hoped was a positive sign, Roofe was snapped back in training on Monday ahead of the second leg of Rangers’ Champions League third qualifying round tie against Malmo, for which he was suspended.
And on Tuesday evening, he provided an update via Instagram.
Roofe posted a short video, in which he’s gently rocking his young son Cassius in a hospital ward, and added a heartwarming caption.
“Cassius said he needed to be back home to watch the boys tonight! @rangersfc,” he wrote. “Thank you for all the messages wishing my striker a speedy recovery from bronchiolitis and a chest infection.”
“5 tough nights at Royal Hospital for Children but the nurses and doctors on ward 2c were amazing.”
It’s great to see that Roofe’s child is on the mend and his post had racked up around 30k likes by the time of writing, with Rangers replying with a blue heart emoji.
It’s now likely that the 28-year-old will be in contention for Friday night’s League Cup fixture against Dunfermline at Ibrox, in which the Gers will be looking to bounce back from three consecutive defeats.
Rangers fans will be hoping for a better team selection from Steven Gerrard, after criticising a major call he made vs Malmo.
