Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has taken to Instagram to celebrate Nigerian Independence Day and share an image of himself playing with Rangers.
The talented midfielder was recently capped by the African country and despite growing up in London is the son of two Nigerian parents.
His Nigerian heritage is clearly something that Aribo is very proud of and the midfielder was not afraid to show it on the 59th anniversary of the day Nigeria became independent from British rule.

Nigeria celebrates Independence Day on October 1st after the proclamation of the country’s independence was made on this date in 1960.
Aribo has just started his footballing journey with the country after being called up for the first time at the beginning of last month.
The midfielder scored on his debut in the 2-2 draw with Ukraine and impressed Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr so much he’s already been picked out as a key member of the first team [Daily Record].
Such has been Aribo’s early success on the international scene, Rangers teammate and Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo has also switched his allegiance to the African nation [Scottish Sun].

But despite Aribo expressing his delight at the prospect of facing Brazil [the Herald] in the upcoming international friendlies, he may well be forced to miss out on the game.
The midfielder is currently recovering from a brutal elbow from Ricki Lamie’s Livingston and Aribo could well be a doubt for the glamour friendly.
