As Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed that striker Kemar Roofe had suffered yet another injury setback, you could almost hear the collective sigh from Govan.
Rangers fans have been left frustrated with the situation surrounding the striker who, so far this season, has only played once since the Europa League Final last campaign.

That came in the League Cup victory over Dundee last week as the ex-Anderlecht and Leeds United striker finally appeared ready to put his injury problems behind him.
But – as has been the case for most of his Rangers career – Kemar Roofe is back on the treatment table and has once again suffered an injury problem which means he can’t play for the club.
This latest knock will keep 29-year-old Roofe out for a “couple of weeks”, meaning he’s unlikely to feature before the World Cup break.
“Kemar (Roofe) has picked up an injury,” said Van Bronckhorst.
“He will be out for a couple of weeks. It’s an injury in the same area but a different injury.
“Firstly it’s very frustrating for Kemar. He has a history of injuries, not only since he has been here but also before he arrived.
“He works hard. He is trying to come back and whenever he comes back there is a setback within a couple of weeks and that’s very frustrating for him.
“It is a hectic schedule for all clubs in the run-up to the World Cup break. We will use the break to recover and get more time on the training pitch. It also gives us time to get more players back from injury and ready to play.”
Questions surrounding Kemar Roofe future after Rangers blow
As a result of the injury – and two fresh knocks picked up against Aberdeen – Rangers could rather remarkably be without up to 11 first-team players heading into the World Cup break.
Yet, and this is the important part, amid all the injuries and problems Rangers are experiencing collectively at the moment, it’s easy to forget the devastation and heartbreak this fresh calf issue is causing Kemar Roofe.
The whole way back in his recovery the striker – who averages around a goal every two games when fit (34 goals in 74 games) – Roofe has been sharing positive updates and appeared so excited about making a return to the squad.
Now, the player will have to nurse yet another problem back to health before he can take to the field for Rangers and have an impact on the pitch.
But whilst problems persist and Kemar Roofe struggles for fitness, questions will always remain over his suitability for Rangers as the Jamaican international continues to command high wages for inconsistent returns.
Meanwhile, one man linked with a move to Rangers was spotted at Ibrox this weekend.
