Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been backed to shine in the English Premier League when he moves on from Ibrox by a leading international teammate with Finland.

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki made history alongside ex-Arsenal man Kamara when the two players played vital roles in securing Finland a spot at Euro 2020.

It is the first time in the Scandinavian country’s history that they’ve qualified for a major tournament and much of it comes down to the work of mainstays Kamara and Pukki.

Ex-Celtic hitman Pukki believes that Rangers star Kamara, 24, is a “top player” and that he will be strutting his stuff in the Premier League before long.

“Glen is a top player and I think he would definitely do well in the English Premier League. I’d bet on him playing there at some point in his career,” said Pukki [the National].

But before Rangers fans get worried about the prospect of losing the talented ex-Dundee man – who famously joined Rangers for 50k in January 2019 – Kamara has reiterated his focus is on playing football.

“I’m not focused on that kind of thing. I’m focusing on this game,” said Kamara.

“I enjoy playing with the national team and enjoy the manager, enjoy the group of boys that I’m with, and it’s always an honour to play for the national team.

“Since I’ve started playing, I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve got to know the players, I’ve got to know how the team plays and I feel like I’ve fitted in quite well, so hopefully long may it continue.”

Rangers midfielder Kamara was once again a stand-out for his country as Finland beat Bulgaria 2-0 in the UEFA Nations League and will take to the field again in their upcoming clash with Ireland.
