Dr Waller returned to Rangers with the hope that the injury issues that plagued Giovanni van Bronckhorst were a thing of the past, when Ridvan Yilmaz had to follow Kemar Roofe off the pitch, it didn’t look good.
The Turkey international had enjoyed a fine performance, not only was he sound defensively, but he was a constant menace down the left-hand side and scored a sensational solo goal.
Speaking after the game, via Rangers TV, Michael Beale had some encouraging words for Rangers fans with the news that Ridvan Yimaz should be fit for the weekend’s visit of Aberdeen.

When asked for an update on why Ridvan had to leave the pitch, Beale said:
“With Ridvan, we think it is just a touch of cramp so hopefully he will be fine.”
The 22-year old has struggled for fitness since arriving but now looks closer to the player that Beale’s predecessor hoped that he had signed.
Rangers need to play with more tempo and Ridvan Yilmaz offers exactly that.
He’s lightning quick, aggressive and pushes other players on around him.
Ridvan also create’s space for others by either driving inside with the ball or running behind opposition defenders.
If he is fit, then he should be picked again to play.
There is no point chopping and changing for the sake of it and the younger of the two left-backs has shown that he can offer more of an attacking threat.
Exactly what we need just now.
There was also the promising signs of an early partnership with Abdallah Sima.
Due to both of them being rapid, teams can’t double up on one of them alone and will always have to have cover which means that there should be space somewhere else on the pitch.
Michael Beale needs to stop making it easy for teams by picking players who are predictable, one dimensional and one paced.
Ridvan Yilmaz is none of these things.
