Rangers winger Ryan Kent is being continually monitored by Leeds Utd ahead of a potential move in the summer according to Football Insider.
Kent has been perennially linked to Leeds since last year [LeedsLive] and with the Englishman’s contract expiring at the end of next season then the Ibrox side faces an interesting summer ahead if they wish to keep the player at the club.
This also comes after former England international Gabriel Agbonlahor claimed he wasn’t good enough for Aston Villa.
“You’re looking at the bottom half of the table for Ryan Kent. He’s not a top-10 player,” said Agbonlahor [ScottishSun].
“He’s not someone Steven Gerrard would sign with the players that Aston Villa could choose out of in the world.
Ryan Kent links to Leeds intensify amid recent report as Rangers need to tie him down to a new deal
There is no doubt Kent is a terrific player, although slightly inconsistent. When he is at full flow and at the top of his game, he can terrify any opponent.
These comments from Agbonlahor prove just how out of touch these former players turned pundits are with the Scottish game and that more respect needs to be dished out.
Kent may not be at the standard of Liverpool or Man City, but he could certainly star for Aston Villa in the Premier League and his European performances at Ibrox prove that he has the class to do so.
With his contract expiring next summer, Gio will have a massive job on his hands this summer in convincing him to remain at the club. Winning the league and securing the Champions League windfall that goes with it could be absolutely vital.
