Rangers star claims teammate “nailed” rare flicker of Motherwell positivity

Rangers star Ianis Hagi has responded as the Romanian midfielder got the Fashion Sakala Jnr treatment and the Zambian striker nabbed his celebration.

So far Sakala has adopted the Scotty Arfield salute, the Alfredo Morelos knee-slide and the Cristiano Ronaldo SIUUU after netting for Rangers.

And as the forward fired the Gers 2-0 up against Motherwell, the striker bowed his head and arm in the style of Romanian attacker Ianis Hagi.

Currently sidelined with a season-ending knee injury, Ianis Hagi would then respond on social media with his own seal of approval.

Hagi, 23, would’ve enjoyed the nod from Zambian star Sakala as he continues his rehabilitation from a cruel knee injury.

As things stand, Rangers could be without the influential midfielder for the start of next season, with the final Motherwell result highlighting how much the Gers miss him.

Whilst it was all smiles when Fashion fired the Ibrox side two goals ahead in Glasgow, things turned in the second half and the Gers were once again ruing two points dropped.

Rangers – rather unforgivably – shipped two second half goals to Motherwell with the game ending 2-2 on the day.

This was a particularly sore result to take given that Celtic had dropped points against Hibernian earlier in the day, with Rangers blowing the chance to cut the gap to one point.

Rangers have now only gained 13 points from an available 24 since the game kicked off after the winter break and as a result, there are fears about the club’s title credentials.

The shortcomings of Rangers’ domestic season after the winter break for the third time in four years also points to a £40m gamble from the Ibrox boardroom.
