Rangers midfielder John Lundstram claims that he wants to “end his career” at Ibrox whilst also revealing he has an injury problem in his ankle.
The influential former Sheffield United star is a mainstay in the Ibrox side and after a rocky start at the club earned the respect of the Rangers fans with a storming second half of the season.
This culminated in THAT goal in the 3-2 aggregate Europa League semi-final win over RB Leipzig and already the Scouse midfielder has been immortalised at Ibrox.
But for John Lundstram, speaking on UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett’s podcast, there is still plenty more to come as he pledges his allegiance to the Ibrox club.
“Yeah I will hopefully stay at Rangers for as long as possible,” said Lundstram.
“I would love to end my career there to be honest.
“I feel at home, I love living up there, I had my little baby.
“My little baby is Scottish, it is mad! She was born up there, I feel part of it.”
John Lundstram reveals Rangers injury issue
The former Everton youth, now 28, has also claimed that he has been playing through the pain barrier at Ibrox this season.
John Lundstram claims that he has a slight muscle tear in his ankle but it is not preventing him for playing as the Rangers squad is decimated by injuries this season.
There have been murmurs of discontent regarding the player’s contribution so far this season but this might go some way to explaining why Lundstram is amongst several who have not been up to speed at times this campaign.
“I’ve been playing with an ankle injury like the last three weeks,” said Lundstram.
“Just got it scanned on Monday after the last game we had and I’ve just got some tear and a little skin thing. I don’t know the scientific word for it.

“As long as they say ‘it’s structurally sound and you’re not going to do any further damage and you can crack on’, I just crack on.
“I can’t remember the last time I played without some sort of niggle.”
John Lundstram has made 19 appearances for Rangers so far this season, scoring two goals. The most recent came in the weekend’s 2-1 Premiership win away to Motherwell.
Speaking of Rangers injuries, the club could well be boosted by the return of two players to action this week.
