Rangers star Borna Barisic responded to being dropped by the Croatian national team by coming off the bench to produce a wonderful assist and change the game.
The Ibrox full-back dropped out of the Croatia side after starting in the 1-0 win over Cyprus to make way for Dario Melnjak for the World Cup Qualifier against Malta.
Barisic has had a mixed international break so far and was even hooked at half time in the Balkans nation’s 1-0 defeat to Slovenia in their World Cup Qualifying opener.
But after playing a role in the nation’s win over Cyprus, Barisic came off the bench against Malta to inspire his side to another three points and set up the first goal in a 3-0 victory.
Rangers fans know all about Borna’s expert crossing attributes and the defender profiled them on the international stage by picking out Inter Milan inside forward Ivan Perisic in the six-yard box.

The goal just after the hour mark kicked off a scoring spree of sorts with Luka Modric converting a penalty in the 76th minute and Josip Brekalo putting some gloss on the result in the 90th minute.
Barisic certainly answered any of his doubters with the substitute appearance as he sent a message regarding the starting berth with the 2018 World Cup finalists ahead of the European Championships in the summer.
These sorts of performances certainly won’t do Barisic’s chances any harm but they’re a big part of the reason why at least three Premier League sides have been credited with transfer interest in the Croatian.
