Rangers’ dominance of all things SPFL is continuing after Jermain Defoe picked up the October Goal of the Month award.
Defoe has only made two Premiership starts this season amid injury struggles and intense competition for places. Yet, he scored one of the Gers’ best goals of the 2020/21 campaign to date against Livingston last month.

In just the 16th minute, he was picked out by a superb arcing pass from James Tavernier and he didn’t even break stride as he tucked a sublime first-time left-footed finish into the bottom right corner.
The goal received 48% of the public vote, ensuring it won the SPFL’s GOTM competition by a considerable margin.
St Mirren’s Ethan Jay Erhahon came second with his long-range effort against Aberdeen (17%), while Lewis Ferguson’s rasping strike against Hamilton finished in third (15%).
Defoe’s award is the latest in a long line of achievements for Rangers so far this season.
The Gers are currently top of the SPFL’s top-flight and Steven Gerrard has already picked up the Premiership Manager of the Month award twice.

Meanwhile, Connor Goldson was named Premiership Player of the Month for October, after Ryan Kent had picked up the same accolade for the month of August.
This isn’t the first time a Gers player has won the SPFL GOTM award this season, either, with Cedric Itten also scooping the prize for his stunning strike against Motherwell in September.
