Reports are suggesting Rangers will beat arch rivals Celtic to the signing of Jake Hastie, one of the Scottish Premiership’s most promising talents.
The Motherwell wideman has been in exceptional form and Rangers have been quick to react. The player has six months remaining on his contract and is free to sign on at Rangers for a small development fee.
And now The Scottish Sun are reporting that Rangers are close to finalising the deal. Hastie was also said to be interesting Middlesbrough, Derby, Millwall and Hull.
Left footed Hastie isn’t afraid of a pop at goal, as his five goals in only eight matches proves. Prior to breaking through the first team, the youngster was on-loan at Alloa Atheltic.
But Rangers have been very enthused with his progress and The Evening Times claim the Ibrox club want Hastie tied down on a four-year deal.
Hastie came through the ranks at Motherwell and was recently called up to the Scotland U21 squad. As his contract expires in the summer Rangers must agree a development fee with Motherwell or this will be decided by a tribunal.
The fans are certainly intrigued by his potential signing.
If Hastie can continue his strong form then this would be considered a major coup by Rangers. Especially if it gets one over on our rivals.
