Rangers legend Richard Gough appeared to announce exactly why LA Galaxy technical director Jovan Kirovski was at Ibrox at the weekend – and suggested he had one eye on Alfredo Morelos.
The Rangers 9 in a row captain explained that Kirovski was at Ibrox as a guest and in Europe to “see a number of things”.
Gough added that the former United States and Dortmund winger is a “friend” and revealed that Kirovski was pleasantly surprised with what he saw with Morelos [Scotsman].

“Jovan is a friend of mine and I sat next to him at the game on Saturday,” said Gough.
“He is in Europe to see a number of things at the moment. He was asking me about Alfredo and I told him he’s just a pure goalscorer.
“Jovan said, ‘Yeah, but he looks a touch heavy’, but I told him just to keep watching and he would definitely score. True enough, he scored with a great finish just a few minutes later.”
Gough then went on to suggest that any interest in Rangers’ players is a good thing – and in turn appears to confirm that Kirovski was on a scouting mission.
“Three years ago, no-one was looking at any of our players,” he added.
“Now they are, which is good. Jovan is also a friend of Steven Gerrard, who played for LA Galaxy. The MLS has a lot of money but he’s over checking out a lot of things. He’s off to Germany next.”

This should clear up any confusion as to why Kirovski was at Ibrox to see Rangers hammer Aberdeen 5-0.
The LA Galaxy representative could well have been scouting our players after all.
